There is no Planet B

Until today, no other planet that allows human life as Earth does has been discovered. The planet Earth is in danger and needs real heroes who can save it by making small changes and fighting for the big ones which are needed. Get on board!

Warm up Star

Let’s start from your bedroom.

When you wake up in the morning and look outside, what do you see?

Draw a picture of what you see and show it to your buddy. Discuss the following questions:

What do you like about it? Is there an element of nature?

Learn Star

We need to make our society more sustainable. This means that environmental goods (natural resources) should be fairly distributed and used.

Environmental Citizenship (EC) is a concept which highlights the fact that everyone carries a responsibility towards sustainability.

Give a look at the EEC model…

… and after, watch this video

EC aims to impact all economic sectors such as agriculture, indusTogether with your buddy brainstorm as many examples as you can think of related to WHAT CAN/SHOULD ENVIRONMENTAL CITIZENSHIP CHANGE?

Look at all your ideas! Great job!

Now discuss some of them together: What implications would each change have and how long would the effects be?

Look at the table before you start

Now let’s get back to you.

Step 1: When and where do you have encounters with nature in your everyday life? Share your answer with your buddy.

Step 2: Take a sheet and divide it in two parts:

  • Left side: What does nature do for me?
  • Right side: What do I do for nature?

Share your answers with your buddy and write them down in your common sheet.

Create 1 StarStarStar

And now let’s go to the next level towards environmental citizenship!

Step 1: Collect your ideas in the EC MODEL: what could be done to save the planet?

(15’ time)

Step 2:

Let’s focus on yourselves: What could you and your peers do to protect nature in your daily life and in your neighbourhood?

Brainstorm at least 15 ideas*!

* Small actions are important, however, don’t limit yourselves to them. Think big and out of the box!

Done?

Create an information flyer with your best idea(s)!

Share it locally and in the work.it area!

If you want your content to be in the KIDS4ALLL gallery, please ask your educator to upload it in the work.it area.

Create 2 StarStarStarStarStar

Go out with your buddy and take pictures of the places where you usually spend time.

It’s time to rethink how these places could be more nature friendly?

What would you change?

Sketch your ideas on the picture (digitally or on paper, if you printed out), share them with as many other people as possible. Maybe others will love your idea and will support you to realise it!

Don’t forget! Have it uploaded on the work.it area so that you can inspire the whole KIDS4ALLL community!

Reflect Star
