It is time to count some coins!
In this activity you will see coins different from those you sketched and used in the place you live, but do not worry! Follow the numbers written on the coins and ask for help if you need it! The coins you are going to count are used in the United Kingdom. The currency used there is sterling (£). Its main unit is a Pound.
1 Pound = 100 Pences
Remember: It does not matter what currency you use to practice, it is important instead to be able to count whatever coin wherever you are!
So… let’s start! Get acquainted with the coins used, for example, in London!

What should you give to the seller in order to get as few coins back as possible?
When you have worked it out, test each other:
think of some notes and coins to start – tell your buddy what they are, then say a price and your partner works out what note and coins they need to give you to receive the least amount of change !
